What is Group technology?
Group technology:-
Group technology is an approach in which
similar parts are identified and grouped together in order to take advantage of
the similarities in design and production, manufacturing, process planning.
Advantages of group technology:-
i) Reduction of time and labor requirements.
ii) Labor from other members.
iii) Better marketing and introduction of new
technology.
iv) Better access to information or loans.
Disadvantages of group technology:-
i) Management needed.
ii) Mismanagement and corruption.
iii) Lack of motivation and contribution.
iv) Financial issue.
